On February 26th an 27th the Johanniter-Academy Central Germany was host of the Workshop „Education in Civil Protection“ in Leipzig. Speakers and Attendees from German and Austrian Red Cross, Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe, Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund, Cologne University of Applied Sciences and Free University of Berlin participated at the Workshop. Reason to meet for these two days was to present and discuss the educational systems in civil protection in Germany and Austria. The Workshop focussed migration-related and unrelated challenges for different skill levels in the operative work in civil protection. It’s very important that the aid organisations and its educational systems will open up for intercultural communication in the future. Furthermore the participants requested more interorganisational connections and educational harmonisation for a sustainable and better civil protection in Germany.
